Covenant Community, As we prepare for this coming Lords Day, the original plan was to look at Proverbs 4. But since the goal of our time in Proverbs was to give the basic layout of the book in order to provide you with help to study its contents, I felt that has been covered already in our look at chapter 1 over the past 3 weeks. So, this week, I plan to preach a stand alone sermon (not a part of a series) from John 4, primarily focusing upon verse 22. Going into it, I admit, that I’ll be focusing upon a secondary, implied truth of that text and using it as the main point of the sermon. But as your pastor, I recognize the ongoing pressure that’s out there to give into false views of worshipping God that ultimately cause us to “worship what we do not know.” So before we dive into our next book series (1 Corinthians), I want to take a Sunday to encourage you to keep your eyes fixed upon the Lord, regardless of the pressure around you. Looking forward to the Lord’s Day! -Lem
Our sermon page is back up to date. Sorry for the delay in uploading sermons. Here's a link to the sermon from June 9 by Jamey Norman on Proverbs 1:8-19. http://covenantcommunity.net/wisdom-vs-foolishness/
A few goodies in honor of our dads on this Lord’s Day morning.
Good morning Covenant Community, In the morning we plan to be back in Proverbs 1 for the preaching portion of our service. Specifically, we plan to look at Proverbs 1:20-33, in which Solomon personifies wisdom, as a lady crying out in the streets for people to listen. My hope is, spending a few weeks in Proverbs, will provide you with a framework that will help you when you study this book in the future. Take some time and read through the sermon text. Pray for the preaching and hearing of the Word tomorrow, to be Spirit empowered. Here’s what we plan to sing tomorrow as well: - No Not One - This is My Father’s World - All I Have is Christ - Only a Holy God - I Surrender All I’m looking forward to being with you all. ~ Lem
A gift for our men this coming Lord’s Day (a day we celebrate fathers too 😉 ).
Today we celebrated one year as Covenant Community Church. Praise God for His faithfulness!
A little upgrade today. Praise God!
Covenant Community, Lord willing, this Lord’s Day we will begin a 5 week look into the book of Proverbs. If you’ve ever struggled with the concept of “finding God’s will,” this book will be highly beneficial for you. It calls us to a life of wisdom, of practically applying biblical knowledge to our lives, that guides us into His will, moment by moment. For preparation, take a look at Proverbs 1:1-7. Also, here’s our song list, and we’re planning to learn new song together as well (All Praise to Him). - All Creatures of our Hod and King - All Praise to Him - O Taste and See (Psalm 34) - Speak O Lord - Be Thou My Vision I’m looking forward to our time of corporate worship this Lords Day. Come prepared, and bring someone with you. In Christ, Lem
We are thankful for John Sweat filling our pulpit while our pastor was out of town, and for the Word of God that was clearly presented to our congregation. Hear God’s Word expounded and applied as John Sweat preaches from John 17 a sermon entitled, “The Hour of Glorification.” Preached by John Sweat on May 19, 2019 John 17:1-5 http://covenantcommunity.net/the-hour-of-glorification/
